Graduate Library Orientation & Welcome

The Graduate Library Orientation & Welcome (GLOW)​ is a two-day conference designed to introduce graduate students to the many resources available to them at Northwestern University Libraries. Students will have the opportunity to meet with librarians and subject specialists who will help guide their research whether on campus or remotely. GLOW is presented in collaboration with the majority of the schools and disciplines university-wide.

Northwestern Libraries and the Graduate Library Orientation & Welcome (GLOW)​ is committed to providing a professional, friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all participants at its virtual and in-person events, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, race, ethnicity, religion, national origin or other protected class.

We expect all GLOW program participants and speakers to help ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone. Unacceptable behavior and harassment will not be tolerated during any portion this event.

Harassment includes offensive verbal/online comments related to race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, country of origin, age, disability, physical appearance, body size, religion, veteran status or other protected class status; discriminatory or offensive images in virtual sessions; intimidation. Participants violating the code of conduct may be warned or be asked to leave (disconnect), by GLOW organizers.

Accessibility

Northwestern University Libraries and GLOW is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for all GLOW events and programs. Accommodations such as captioning, sign language interpreters, and presentation materials in alternate formats are provided upon request. Please email nul-glow@northwestern.edu by Tuesday, September 5. Every reasonable effort will be made to implement accommodations in an effective and timely manner.
