GlobeMed is hosting its fifth annual Global Health Summit! The theme of this year’s Summit is A Call to Action: Leveraging History to Build a Movement. Join us for keynote addresses by Dr. Joseph Amon and Dr. Joia Mukherjee to learn and discuss how students can have a role in the movement for global health equity (more information about the keynotes below). Admission is free!
We are also extending guest passes for our workshops to NU students. All workshops take place on Friday at the Hotel Orrington, and will cover the topics Global Health at the Grassroots, Historical Lessons, and Advocating for Justice.

Dr. Amon is the director of the health and human rights division of Human Rights Watch, and has worked on a wide range of projects, including access to medicines, HIV testing, and the rights of prisoners and migrants to access healthcare. Dr. Mukherjee is the Chief Medical Officer of Partners in Health and an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School in the Division of Global Health Equity at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She has been involved in health care access and human rights issues since 1989 in the United States, Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and the countries of the former Soviet Union. Dr. Mukherjee also consults for the World Health Organization on the treatment of HIV and MDR-TB in developing countries.
