For this week’s post we wanted our photos to relate to beauty and how much appreciation has to come from understanding, what that looks like in the eye of a foreigner.

The first image shows a monk visiting the Palais de Versailles in France, an amazing example of so many people from different religious, ethnic and racial backgrounds able to enjoy together moments preserved in time.

The second image shows some a piece of street art with some symbolism representing the indigenous peoples of Argentina, done on a simple metal gate. These types of works are actually very common to see throughout Buenos Aires and almost never come with any explanation and sometimes even without an artist’s signature, leaving the onlooker to determine a meaning for themselves.

The third image shows a common scene of street musicians playing for passersby on a feria day in the Plaza Juramento in Buenos Aires. It was amazing to see people of all generations seated, just enjoying the music and good company, sharing mate, and some even singing along to old love songs. The whole scene made me feel welcome by the music but also reminded me how much I don’t know and will never know in such a short time here.
