Nightlife generally refers the entertainment one primarily attends at night- nightclubs, parties, live music, concerts, theatre, etc. Depending on who you are, nightlife could be associated with fun times and youthful recklessness. On the other hand, if you identify as a more vulnerable member of society like women or a person of other marginalised groups, nightlife presents an awareness of danger, programmed into you by parents and heartbreaking stories on the news. This results in common practices like sharing your location with friends and texting to make sure everyone makes it home. As the world moves to greater gender equality and stronger institutions, it is exciting to see people of all genders and ages coming out to appreciate and celebrate community safely at night, as seen in the picture taken in Southbank, London. The magic of the night is that the world changes completely, becomes a new place to discover  all over again as neon lights transform our everyday surroundings. One can be entranced by a neon public artwork in Florence, or take a moment of quiet contemplation in Tangiers. All the same, the night is when the neon lights go up you’re given a whole new perspective to explore.
