We chose these images because they show three similar shots of daily life, but in three vastly different locations. It was interesting to note the cobblestone streets in each location, indicating that these three cities in Scotland, France, and Mexico likely have a long and deep history. Each image shows the distinct architecture of the buildings in each city while citizens stroll through the street going about their daily lives. The colors in the Mexican city are very bright and vibrant and most of the buildings were made with plaster and drywall. In comparison, the buildings in the photos from Scotland and France show more neutral shades and seem to be built with stone. I have always loved candid pictures of people walking down city streets because it gives me a sense of what it would be like to live in that city. When looking at these images one can be transported to each location and imagine that these are the roads they’d walk down on the way to work and these are the balconies they’d pass on the way to their favorite restaurant or cafĂ©.
