Italy is renowned for its cuisine and culture. I decided to dive deep into the cuisine and give a few places a try as well as do some cooking too. In the first photo, I went to a place called Acqua al 2 which was known for its pasta samplers as well as its steak. Florence is actually known for its Florentine steak but it was just too big to take on so I opted for this place instead. There I tried the blueberry steak which was a fillet mignon covered in caramelised blueberry sauce. Funnily enough, this place actually has a location in Washington, DC.
The second photo was taken at a trattoria close to the city centre. This place came highly recommend so I treated myself to a lunch there with a glass of the house wine. Here I had a pappardelle pasta with boar sauce.
In the last two photos, I took a pasta making class and learned the basics of making tagliatelle as well as ravioli and tortellini. I never realised how simple it actually is to make pasta on your own. You just have to put some elbow grease into the kneading and the rest is just shaping!
