The Global Capitalism & Law Research Group launched at the Buffett Institute for Global Studies in October 2015 and investigates the political, social, legal, and normative underpinnings of successful and politically sustainable local, national, and global markets.

Our goal is to replace one-size-fits-all recommendations with a deeper understanding of how legal infrastructures can facilitate investment and build trust and predictability while protecting the rights and addressing the needs of all citizens.

The group hosts master classes, reading seminars, and invited speakers, with the goal of bringing together faculty, graduates students, and visitors from a wide range of disciplinary perspectives to create a vibrant research community.
