I want to express my appreciation for the GHS department and all that it has done for me throughout my undergraduate years. I grew up in a fairly reserved environment without much exposure to the world around me, whether that be direct or through media. Global and public health always interested me, but it took time for me to understand just how relevant and crucial they are in making the world a better place. Each and every one of my global health professors has inspired me with their insights and awareness regarding not only the societies they live in, but also societies that may be foreign to them. Without this department, I wouldn’t be where or who I am today. I gained a whole new perspective on the world around me and was shown how important it is to express compassion and understanding above all else.
