Hello there! Welcome to my website.

I am a PhD Candidate at Northwestern University, working at the Center for Interdisciplinary Exploration and Research in Astrophysics (CIERA) under the supervision of Fred A. Rasio. My research focuses on stellar dynamics within dense star clusters, including hydrodynamics of stellar mergers, tidal disruption events, intermediate-mass black holes, and the formation of gravitational-wave sources. For more details on our simulations of dense star clusters, check out our Cluster Monte Carlo code here.

I grew up in Ankara, Turkey, and attended METU for my undergraduate and master’s studies, where I majored in Physics. In 2019, I began my PhD at Northwestern University as a Fulbright fellow and will be defending my dissertation in Summer 2025.

Besides my research, I am passionate about teaching and outreach. I have been heavily involved in preparing Python programming learning materials for undergraduates and K-12 students from diverse STEM backgrounds and interests as part of CIERA’s summer research program (REACH). You can access these resources from the code repository for the REACH Program here.
