Northwestern University will be conducting vaccine and other clinical trials for the prevention of COVID-19.  Most of the trials will be part of the COVID-19 Prevention Network (CoVPN) that was formed recently by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).  Others may include studies not organized by the NIH.

The COVID vaccine trials will enroll persons who are at risk of infection and COVID-19 disease.  This risk could be associated with, but is not limited to:

• Working in a job such as a healthcare worker, emergency response or public transportation personnel, grocery/retail worker, or  factory/plant employee, ;
• Living or working in congregated living facilities, such as nursing homes, jails/prisons;
• Being a member of a community that has been disproportionately impacted by this pandemic, such as:
  • Older persons
  • Persons with underlying health conditions
  • Racial/ethnic groups such as African Americans, Latinx, and Native American
