An Image of the Ideal: Songs at the Start

Hi, I’m Daniel Kim, a Class of 2022 English Major from Orange County, California. I like bowling, biking, and basketball. This class gave me the chance to step away from close-reading and think more reflectively about the narrative a physical book is able to tell apart from the text inside. Getting to dive into the life of Louise Imogen Guiney and not just her poetry helped me put a lot of her themes into a time-sensitive perspective, and I think this is a helpful skill for anyone taking English classes to learn.
