I am an Assistant Professor at Illinois Institute of Technology and a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research and Exploration in Astrophysics (CIERA) at Northwestern University. Previously I was a National Science Foundation Astronomy & Astrophysics Postdoctoral Fellow and CIERA Fellow at Northwestern University. I received my PhD from the University of Wisconsin– Madison in 2018 working with Prof. Robert Mathieu. Prior to starting my PhD, I worked in education and public outreach at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago, IL. I
I am a binary star enthusiast with interests that include stellar and binary evolution modeling, the physics of mass transfer, asteroseismology, stellar angular momentum evolution, and observational studies of star clusters. My work uses data from the Gaia, Kepler/K2, TESS, and the Hubble Space Telescope.
