Kenneth Seeskin

Biography

Kenneth Seeskin was Professor of Philosophy, Philip M. and Ethel Klutznick Professor of Jewish Civilization, and McCormick Professor of Teaching Excellence. He received his Ph.D in Philosophy from Yale University in 1972 and taught at Northwestern until his retirement in 2020. He chaired the Philosophy Department and the Religious Studies Department. He specializes in the rationalist tradition in Jewish philosophy with an emphasis on Maimonides and Spinoza. He edited the Cambridge Companion to Maimonides and has published numerous books and articles on the philosophy of religion.
