How does experience become biology? We seek answers to this question by conducting research in diverse field settings all around the world. We draw on and integrate models and methods from the social, biological, and medical sciences to advance our understanding of development, physiological function, and health.

E2HD investigators are making important contributions to research on health disparities, reproductive ecology, ecological immunology, nutrition and energetics, stress, the microbiome, epigenetics, and the developmental origins of health and disease. We are committed to collaborative research, and to training the next generation of scholars pursuing evolutionary and ecological approaches to health and development.
