Karli Bigler
Karli Bigler, B.A., is currently completing their master’s in clinical counseling on the child/adolescent track at Northwestern University. Karli received her B.A. in Psychology and Neuroscience from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2021 and was drawn to the mental health field from their experience working with young children. As a member of the Queer community, Karli has a deep passion for creating a safe and supportive space for LGBTQ2IA+ individuals, couples, and youth.
Karli has an extensive research background. Karli’s paper, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Gay and Lesbian Couples: Considerations for Pursuer-Distancer Patterns Publication was published in 2022 with Dr. Christopher Modica (Ohio Wesleyan University). At Northwestern, Karli has been a member of Dr. Jessica Pryor’s Perfectionism Lab, engaged in scholarship and manuscript writing with Dr. Miranda Parries, and assisted Dr. Marcus Smith as an Emerging Scholar in creating literature searches and manuscript editing and writing for a chapter in the book The Handbook of LGBTQ Mental Health Practice: A Guide for Students & New Practitioners.
