Valerie Trewick
Valerie Trewick is in her first year in the Master’s in Counseling program at the Family Institute at Northwestern on the Child and Adolescent track. Before graduate school, she earned a Bachelor of Science at the University of Michigan in Biopsychology, Cognition and Neuroscience, and Sociology of Health and Medicine. She joined the Anxiety Research Group in December 2022 and is passionate about using research findings to improve clinical practice. Her interests include integrative approaches to treating anxiety and mood disorders, identity development in teens and emerging adults, and improving the clinical experience for marginalized groups. She is inspired by psychodynamic, person-centered, and Black feminist perspectives.
