We are excited to extend a warm welcome to Emma as she joins the Dichtel Research Group: Emma, originally from Houston, Texas, has always been driven by a passion for science. She graduated with high honors from UCLA, earning her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Materials Science. Throughout her undergraduate journey, she immersed herself in Sarah Tolbert’s lab, dedicating her research to the design and synthesis of silica aerogels for innovative radiative cooling applications. Her commitment to research and academic excellence led her to participate in the Undergraduate Research Fellows Program at UCLA, where her hard work did not go unnoticed. She was honored with several accolades, including the Robert E. Biskowski Chemistry Scholarship and the Ramsey Commencement Award, which recognize outstanding research contributions. Building on her rich experiences in the Tolbert Lab and valuable internships at Diamond Foundry and SLAC National Lab, Emma is enthusiastic about embarking on the next chapter of her academic career. She looks forward to the opportunity to refine her skills and broaden her knowledge as she begins her graduate studies in the Dichtel Research Lab, a space renowned for its innovative research and collaborative spirit. Welcome aboard, Emma!
