Ten students and postdocs presented their work at the recent 250th ACS National Meeting in Boston. Will delivered the Kavli Foundation Emerging Leader in Chemistry Lecture. His lecture, “The Spectacular Properties of Porous Polymers,” described how to design permanent porosity into polymers and how these high surface area materials might be useful for applications in water purification and energy storage. His concluding remarks were controversial.
