Shuttle Bus Runs Between Hotel and Meeting Venue
Friday: Orrington Hotel to Tech: 2:20pm and 2:40pm.
Friday: Tech to Orrington Hotel: 5:10pm and 5:30pm.
Saturday: Orrington Hotel to Tech: 7:30am, 7:50am and 8:10am.
Saturday: Tech to Orrington Hotel: 4:40pm, 5:00pm and 5:20pm.
Sunday: Orrington Hotel to Tech: 7:00am, 7:20am, 7:40am and 8:00am.
Travel Funds
SUPPORT FOR TRAVEL
- CUWiP will provide hotel accommodations for Friday, January 18 and Saturday, January 19 along with meals for all attendees.
- APS CUWiP requests that participants first ask their departments for travel funding. “Travel funding” means the cost of round trip transit to Evanston. Travel grants may be available for those whose departments cannot cover full costs. If you have questions about this process or are unsure who to direct questions to within your department, please contact us.
TRANSPORTATION REIMBURSEMENT FORM
- Please contact us if you need to request reimbursement for transportation to or from CUWiP in Evanston. If you are approved for travel funding, please make sure to keep all original receipts. The travel reimbursement form will become available after the conference. Please check back here at that time or look for an email with more information.
Airport Transportation
We recommend O’Hare International Airport for its convenience to Northwestern University’s Evanston campus. You are welcome to fly into Midway Airport, but it is about 15 minutes farther away from Evanston than O’Hare by car.
Taxi
American Taxi | 847-255-9600
From the airport (O’Hare or Midway) call 847-255-9600 as soon as you deplane. The company will text you with your taxi number. (Please only take that taxi.) Taxis are waiting in a nearby lot and will proceed to the terminal to meet you for pick-up.

O’Hare to Northwestern’s Evanston campus ~ 35 minutes (double during rush hour), $32 flat rate before tip
Midway to Northwestern’s Evanston campus ~ 50 minutes (double during rush hour), $52 flat rate before tip
Rideshare
If you prefer to use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft, please look for signs for the designated “Rideshare Pick-up” zone for your terminal.
Public Transit
O’Hare to Northwestern’s Evanston campus ~ 1.5 hours: Pace 250 bus (from Kiss ‘n Fly) to Davis Station, Evanston
O’Hare to Northwestern’s Evanston campus ~ 1.5 hours: Blue Line to Purple Line, Davis Station, Evanston
Midway to Northwestern’s Evanston campus ~ 1.5 hours: Orange Line to Purple Line, Davis Station, Evanston
From Chicago ~ Take the Purple Line north in the direction of Linden. Exit at Davis. It’s a 4-minute walk east to the Orrington hotel.
Metra from Chicago
Take the Union Pacific North (UP-N) line to Davis. It’s a 4-minute walk east to the Orrington hotel.
Parking
On Campus
- Campus parking lots are free and open on weekends.
- From 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. weekdays, permits are required to park in campus lots.

Off Campus
- The City of Evanston Church Street Self-park garage is located south of campus. You will pay $8 for a 6-12 hour stay. From here, it’s about a 5-10 minute walk to the workshop location.
Hotel
- Valet parking is available at the hotel for a fee.
