August 10, 2022 update

We will be providing several complimentary meeting shuttle buses from Naples Capodichino Airport to the Grand Hotel Vesuvio, Sorrento on Sat. Sept. 17 and Sun. Sept. 18 as well as from the hotel back to the airport on Fri. Sept. 23.

If you are interested, please fill out this survey by August  15, 2022.  The bus schedule will be established based on your responses.

General Information

  • The nearest airport is Naples Capodichino International Airport (http://www.aeroportodinapoli.it/homepage)
  • We suggest that you plan to arrive at Capodichino Airport in the evening of Saturday, September 17 or early Sunday, September 18 to facilitate travel from the airport to the hotel in Sorrento.
  • Please plan to arrive in time for the clinical science sessions (Sessions 1-2) to begin at 2:00 pm and capped by a presentation by our first Keynote Speaker, Prof. Chris Chang.  Our opening conference mixer and welcome reception at the Grand Hotel Vesuvio veranda and pool area will immediately follow, at 8:00 pm with drinks and buffet.

From Naples Capodichino Airport to Grand Hotel Vesuvio, Sorrento (Direct route) 

Meeting Shuttle (this is the best way to travel to Sorrento)

There will be a complimentary meeting shuttles on Saturday, September 17 and  Sunday, September 18 from Naples Capodichino Airport to the Grand Hotel Vesuvio, Sorrento, as well as from back to Naples Capodichino Airport for departures on Friday, September 23.

Alternative ways to travel to the meeting site 

Direct bus line

A regular bus route from Naples Capodichino Airport to Sorrento is provided by Curreri Viaggi (http://www.curreriviaggi.it/eng/autolinee.html). The first bus departs from the airport at 9 AM while the last bus departs at 7:30 PM (the interval between buses is 1.5-2h). The trip to Sorrento takes approximately 1h and 15 minutes and the ticket cost is 10€. The bus stop in Sorrento is located at the Sorrento Train Station from where you shall take a taxi to the hotel (cost could vary from 7 to 10 EUR).  Note: If you do not plan to take the meeting shuttle this is the best option to get to Sorrento from the Capodichino airport.

A taxi will cost approximately 150/180€ to travel from Naples Capodichino Airport to Sorrento.

Shuttle Service

Shuttle service offers relatively cheap (25 EUR per person) option for for door-to-door transfer from the Naples Airport (or from the Naples Railway Station) to the hotel

From Naples Capodichino Airport to Sorrento (through the center of Naples)

If you plan to visit Naples before going to Sorrento, you should take the “Alibus” bus (see signs at the arrival site) from the airport to the center of the city (Piazza Garibaldi). The ticket costs 3€ and the trip lasts 15-20 min. Napoli Centrale is the main Naples train station and is located at the Piazza Garibaldi.  From Napoli Centrale station to Sorrento you should take the Circumvesuviana train line (see timetable at https://www.eavsrl.it/web/sites/default/files/ORARI%20NAPOLI%20SORRENTO_dal%2027%20giugno%20al%2031%20agosto%202022_0.pdf) in the direction of Sorrento. You will board this train at the underground floor of the Napoli Centrale station. The trip to Sorrento takes 1h 10 min (first train departs from Napoli Centrale at 6:11 AM and the last at 9:42 PM, at 30 min intervals) and costs 3.50€.  From the Sorrento train station you will need to take a taxi to the hotel (cost could vary from 7 to 10 EUR).  If you would like to spend some time in Naples before going to Sorrento, you can take the metro (Line 1) from Piazza Garibaldi to visit different parts of the city.

From Rome Fiumicino Airport to Sorrento

If you travel from Rome Fiumicino Airport take Leonardo Express train to Roma Termini station. The trip lasts 30 min and costs 14€. Then you have to take train From Roma Termini to Napoli Centrale station.  We advise you to use the high-speed trains Freccia Rossa (http://www.trenitalia.com/) or Italo (http://www.italotreno.it/).  The trip will take takes 1h-1h15min from Rome to Naples and costs will range from 20 to 60€.  Finally, from Napoli Centrale station to Sorrento you should take the Circumvesuviana train line (see above for details).
