Hi there! My name is Chantal (pronouns: she/her/hers). I am a fifth-year PhD candidate in the Department of Linguistics at Northwestern University. My research interests primarily lie in sociolinguistics, speech perception, and phonetics.

I am currently working on my dissertation which looks at how speech comprehension and linguistic expectations are influenced by multiple sources of social information given about a speaker, particularly those that cue their racialized identity and nationality.
