Airport Choice
We recommend O’Hare International Airport for its convenience to Northwestern University’s Evanston campus. You are welcome to fly into Midway Airport, but it is about 15 minutes farther away from Evanston than O’Hare.
Taxi
American Taxi | 847-255-9600
From the airport (O’Hare or Midway) call 847-255-9600 as soon as you deplane. The company will text you with your taxi number. (Please only take that taxi.) Taxis are waiting in a nearby lot and will proceed to the terminal to meet you for pick-up.
Please ask for the flat rate to Evanston.
O’Hare to Northwestern’s Evanston campus ~ 35 minutes (double during rush hour)
Midway to Northwestern’s Evanston campus ~ 50 minutes (double during rush hour)
Rideshare
If you prefer to use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft, please look for signs for the designated “Rideshare Pick-up” zone for your terminal.

O’Hare to Northwestern’s Evanston campus ~ 1.5 hours: Blue Line to Purple Line
Midway to Northwestern’s Evanston campus ~ 1.5 hours: Orange Line to Purple Line
Metra from Chicago
Take the Union Pacific North (UP-N) line to Davis. It’s a 10 minute walk northeast to the workshop location on campus.
CTA (the “El”) from Chicago
Take the Purple Line north in the direction of Linden. Exit at Davis. It’s a 10 minute walk northeast to the workshop location on campus.
Parking
On Campus
From 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. weekdays, permits are required to park in campus lots. Outside of these hours, campus lots are free and open.
Daily on-campus visitor parking permits cost $8.25. At the South Campus Garage, you may purchase a visitor permit at a pay station and walk 5 minutes west to the workshop location. Please visit the main Visitor Parking web page for more information.
Off Campus
The City of Evanston Church Street Self-park garage is located south of campus. You will pay $8 for a 6-12 hour stay. From here, it’s about a 5-10 minute walk to the workshop location.
