CFS was a phenomenal opportunity for me to polish my professional skills and become more familiar with the working world over the course of a quarter while also giving me a much-needed break from a traditional course load. Instead of going to class and taking exams, I commuted downtown daily on the ā€˜Lā€™ to work. It was an interesting opportunity to get a glimpse of working life. On top of that, I was able to meet lots of interesting people at the office to help me get a better understanding of the healthcare industry. I was able to get help with my resume and interview with lots of firms both big and small in the Chicago area thanks to CFS. All of those interviews helped me become more confident with my interviewing skills. Many students take use this opportunity to learn more about their intended career path, but I wanted to explore a different interest, and I got the chance to work in the startup world.

While I went into CFS planning to take a finance internship and get hands-on experience in that field, I decided that this may be the best time to try out something different. Vous Vitamin is a direct-to-consumer multivitamin subscription company that delivers a personalized multivitamin to its customers. I got to work closely with the COO of the company and learned a great deal about the operations and necessary tasks required to run a small business. While this quarter taught me that I may be more suited to working at large firms, my time at Vous Vitamin was engaging and informative, and I sincerely appreciated the opportunity.
