My internship at Mission Measurement has exposed me to a new and emerging sector in the business world that I did not know existed. The company helps for-profits, non-profits, and government organizations measure and maximize their social impact in fields ranging from global poverty to children’s education to environmental sustainability. I have learned invaluable ways of thinking from researching new ways to measure social impact. It has helped me learn that the best business model is one that is focused on social good.

I hope to one day apply my experiences here to the immigration field. Mission Measurement has given me not only the tools, but also the vision to apply business tactics and find a solution to our country’s immigration situation. As a Social Policy and Economics major, I found it difficult to find a career path for me that was not heavily finance-focused or social work. I have found the third way, and I am excited for my future career prospects.
