This year’s conference theme will be: The Emerging Regulatory Terrain for CDR. The theme reflects the rapidly evolving governance environment for CDR and the interstices that remain in both facilitating CDR research and deployment and ensuring that risks are minimized and the integrity of the system is maximized.
Among the cross-cutting topics that will be covered in the panels include the following
- Can compliance markets help to scale carbon removal over the course of this century?
- What does the evolving architecture for governance of marine-based carbon removal look like, and is it fit for purpose?
- What is the interface of local, state and federal legislation in regulating land-based CDR approaches?
