Points

What are Housing Points?

CCS housing points are used in order to determine eligibility to return to CCS in the next academic year. Points are tallied over the course of an executive board cycle, from Spring Quarter to Winter Quarter (i.e. points accumulated in fall and winter quarter go towards housing for the next year, points in spring quarter go to housing two years from then – yes, it can be confusing). According to Northwestern guidelines, half of all CCS rooms must be available for incoming first-year students, so the half of CCSers that are able to stay in the building is determined by point totals. Housing points are also used to determine housing priority, so if you want to snag that really big room (you know the one), getting a high number of points will make it easier to take your pick of rooms.

How do I earn points?

CCS points can be earned by doing anything to participate in the residential college community. A list of point values for this year can be found below.
