About CCS

Students from as far away as Shanghai and as close as the south side of Chicago live together in CCS, Northwestern University’s first residential college, founded all the way back in 1972. Our majors range from art practice to journalism to engineering, but we share a love of diverse cultures and concern for our local and global communities. For more information about residential colleges, visit the Residential College Board Website

When not out enjoying the social scene around us on North Campus, we work with our fellows and outside organizations to put on activities like monthly firesides, community service projects, and IM sports.  For trips into Chicago, the Noyes L stop is conveniently close by.  Favorite outings include trips to ethnic neighborhoods, musical and dramatic performances, and camping.

Our mission is to provide students with a unique undergraduate experience at Northwestern.  We aim to provide opportunities to experience the social and community interactions in local and global cultures as well as urban communities.  We also immerse ourselves in the many diverse cultural offerings this thriving metropolis has to offer by leading philanthropic events and social events such as taking trips to ethnic neighborhoods and hosting faculty-led firesides.

We make CCS our home.

2303 Sheridan is on North Campus, just north of Sargent and Tech. CCS shares the building with GREEN House, an environmentally-themed residential community.
