Here at CKNU, our goal is to fight food waste while fighting food insecurity.
As a student-fueled organization, we make it our mission to engage Northwestern with the surrounding community in a manner that promotes health equity and communicates to students the impact possible from interdisciplinary collaboration. We dive into the “meat” of barriers to local social justice by working to provide simple access to balanced nutrition for any and all disadvantaged individuals within the Northshore community.
A former member of the Campus Kitchens Project (CKP), CKNU strives to continue the work put in by CKP members over the last few decades as well as to bridge the gap between Northwestern and the community of food justice resources that exist in Northern Illinois. We aim to engage students and community members alike via hands-on service opportunities that allow us all to connect over our love for and appreciation of food.
Come fight with us!
