Thomas Preston
Thomas Preston (’71,’75) majored in English at Northwestern University. He is also a retired attorney and graduated from Northwestern’s law school in 1975. He served for seven years in the tax division of the US Department of Justice and later as tax counsel to the US Senate Finance Committee during the passage of the 1986 Tax Reform Act. Preston concluded his career with twenty-three years of service in the Office of the Chief Counsel in Washington, D.C., retiring as a Senior Counsel in 2014.
