Nelson Johnson

Nelson Johnson (BA’70) majored in English at Northwestern University. Additionally, Johnson attended Howard University College of Medicine from 1970 to 1974 and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. He is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He practiced privately for ten years, followed by ten years at Kaiser Permanente and another ten years at the KC Swope Parkway Health Center. He has worked on initiatives in Indian and Latino healthcare and currently focuses on Palliative Care and Hospice Care. Currently licensed in three states, Nelson practices as a locum tenens physician.

 

Nelson married Anne Lambert, the first Afro-American Dentist in Kansas City, Missouri. Nelson is a proud parent of two successful children and enjoys spending time with his four grandchildren.
