Loester M. Lewis
Loester M. Lewis (BS’71, MA’72, MBA’89) majored in History and Secondary Education at Northwestern University. She continued her education at Northwestern, earning a master’s degree in Counseling in 1972, an M.B.A. in 1989, and a Human Resource Management & Marketing certification, from SPHR – HR Management Association.
A product of the Chicago west side, Lewis was recruited to Northwestern as a participant in the NUCAP program. After graduation, she initiated an extensive professional career as an American History, Minority Studies, and Special Education teacher before moving into the Human Resources Management arena with key roles in the Telecommunications, Manufacturing, Outplacement, and Financial Services industries and as a Human Resources Management Consultant. She is a member of SPHR, HR Management Association.
Lewis is a 50+ year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., (a charter member of Northwestern’s chapter) and oversees the endowed Cora Regulus Crider Scholarship at Northwestern University. She is a Trustee Board Member and Financial Secretary at Saint John Church Baptist Church in Chicago and serves on the board of JESFF, Inc., in Chicago’s southland, and the SJCB Performing Arts Center on Chicago’s South Side.
She is a very proud mother of two Northwestern University alums, Gerald E. Lewis, Jr. (BA ‘96 College of Arts and Sciences) and Lachelle M. Cheatham (BA ’00, Medill School of Journalism).
