Amassa C. Fauntleroy
Amassa Courtney Fauntleroy, III (MS’67, PhD’70) earned master’s and doctorate degrees in algebraic geometry from Northwestern University. He was one of the negotiators during the Bursar’s Office Takeover. After leaving the U.S. Army in 1972, he pursued a distinguished career as a mathematics professor, with his final position being at North Carolina State University. Fauntleroy passed away in 2017.
