For those of us in Pakistan, watching this made us realize how strikingly similar the elite culture in India is to the burger culture we have. “Our lives can be quite mundane”, they say, following it up with a nonchalant “Of course we go shopping in a Rolls Royce”. Divas of Karachi is a docuseries about the lives of independent rich and elite people, predominantly women. It explores their lives, careers, and relationships. It was created by writer and director Senain Kheshgi, who grew up in America but was born in Karachi. We believe that this docuseries encapsulates the concept of burger culture and burger circles in South Asia, particularly in Karachi, Pakistan. It provides a really interesting perspective and insight into the lives of the elite class or the burger class in Karachi.
