Center for Comparative Medicine (CCM) The Center for Comparative Medicine (CCM) is the centrally administered animal resource that acts as the service and teaching unit supporting all animal use in research, testing, and education at NorthwesternUniversity. Animals used in biomedical research at Northwestern University are housed either in CCM facilities or in facilities administered by academic departments for which CCM provides the primary care and oversight.

Office for Research The Office for Research (OR) plays a strategic role in developing the best research programs and facilities; attracting exceptional faculty; and administering more than a half-billion in annual funding from federal agencies, foundations, and corporations.
Institutional Review Board The IRB Office is primarily responsible for developing and directing the University’s Human Subject Protection Program (HSPP), which also involves other offices at Northwestern University. The HSPP mission is to be a model program of excellence in protecting the rights and welfare of human subjects involved in research.
Office for Research Safety  Resources for research and laboratory safety, including online MSDS and lab coat cleaning.
Innovation and New Ventures Office (INVO) INVO catalyzes the translation of Northwestern innovations to benefit the public and contribute to economic growth. INVO’s goal is to commercialize innovations that create impact, and foster an entrepreneurial community at Northwestern.
NUvention NUvention is our flagship interdisciplinary course and forms the cornerstone of our goals as a center. It is a visionary academic partnership created to expand upon Northwestern University’s excellence in interdisciplinary study and to foster a sense of collaboration throughout Northwestern’s various schools. The program is designed to expose students to the entire innovation and entrepreneurial life cycle and to help them understand how innovations can become a viable business in the real world. And, it’s Northwestern’s most concerted effort to bring the world of startups to the classroom.
