7th annual Northern Illinois College German Immersion Day

The immersion day is conceived as an extension of the Bauhaus Symposium and will include workshops dealing with German immigrants, German-American history, German architecture, and German ideas, products, music, food, films, and significant sites in Chicagoland and the USA.
Highlights will include the interactive exploration of the newly renovated McCormick House by Mies van der Rohe with the exhibit “The Whole World a Bauhaus” at the Elmhurst Art Institute, and the lecture at 1:30 Bauhaus Translated: Transcultural Encounters with the Avant-garde school by Dr. Regina Bittner.

Sponsors and partners include: Deutschlandjahr 2018/2019, Elmhurst College, Northwestern University, Harper College, Northern Illinois University, University of Chicago, College of DuPage, the Northern Illinois AATG, German Consulate Chicago, and the Goethe-Institut Chicago.
