The main role of the President is to set the tone and represent the undergraduate student population of the dorm. The President is responsible for leading both Executive Board meetings and Resboard. The President should help assist and oversee the projects of the rest of the board. As the President must sign off on all the dorm’s financial transactions alongside the Treasurer, they must also complete SOFO training. The President is also the dorm liaison to the Residential College Board (RCB), and therefore attends weekly Fullboard meetings with other residential college presidents and RCB officers. In general, the President is the external figurehead for the dorm and communicates between the dorm, RCB, and other University leadership (represents these external concerns in exec meetings). The President coordinates with the Communications Chair.

Lux Vargas
Vice President

The main role of the Vice President is to ensure smooth internal operation and general satisfaction of the undergraduate student population of the dorm. The Vice President is responsible for tracking points throughout the year and organizing housing each spring. In general, the Vice President is the internal figurehead for the dorm, and is responsible for voicing the concerns of residents in executive meetings. The Vice President is responsible for creating a system where residents can voice their concerns and should create at least one poll per quarter to measure dorm interest in updates, and report the results to the executive board. This could look like creating a sub group under their wings(Internal Affairs team) who will directly report to the VP. The VP in general makes sure the residents are satisfied with their stay and help in any way. This includes working with University Residential Life (including Resident Assistants), the maintenance budget, and regularly checking all dorm equipment. If a system is determined for reserving equipment, this would be the responsibility of the VP to manage (i.e. borrowing the dorm tool box or reserving the TV room for a movie night).

Favorite Club/Org: Korean American Students Association (KASA)
The main role of the Treasurer is to manage Ayers’ finances. The Treasurer is responsible for handling budgeting, reimbursements, and all activities related to SOFO (Student Organization Finance Office). The Treasurer should assist other officers in organizing events, especially when a purchase is necessary. The Treasurer coordinates and works closely with Social Chairs.

The main role of the External Social Chair is to organize group events that are outside of the dorm. The internal and external social chairs will work closely with each other but will oversee different types of events. Both social chairs are required to be SOFO trained since they will be working closely with the Treasurer. These two chairs will co plan Ayers spring formal. They are responsible for creating a sub group (Social team) that is made of residents who want to help with events planning. These groups are critical when planning the Ayers formal.

Academic Affairs Chair

The main role of the Academic Affairs Chair is to organize Firesides and to act as liaison to Faculty Fellows. Firesides are defined as informal gatherings where Faculty Fellows or other students present on a topic of their choosing. This includes both scheduling and publicizing them, and generally encouraging dorm involvement. They are also responsible for making sure which residents would like to host firesides and update the exec members. In their role as liaison to the Faculty Fellows, the Academic Affairs Chair is directly responsible for all communications with the Fellows and should actively encourage Fellows to host Firesides and participate in dorm events. The Academic Affairs Chair coordinates with the Entrepreneurial (Business) Chair.

Fatima Sullivan
Philanthropy Chair

Favorite Club/Org: Ballet Folklórico
The main role of the Philanthropy Chair is to organize philanthropic endeavors. This includes participating in larger campus philanthropy events by creating teams of CCI residents. The Philanthropy Chair is also ultimately responsible for ensuring residents fulfill the philanthropy requirement. They are also responsible for creating IM Sports teams to compete against other residential colleges and non-RC student teams. The IM Chair is also responsible for organizing Ayers’ involvement in Field Day, including planning Ayers-specific Field Day events and creating the Ayers Field Day Video. Promoting the CCI/Slivka rivalry (and CCI’s dominance) is also heavily encouraged.

Favorite Club/Org: Applause for a Cause
The main role of the Communications Chair is to uphold clear and consistent communication between residents and executive board members. They should publish a weekly newsletter that would be sent out on the same day of the week each quarter. The Comm Chair has a dual role as historian and should work to update all bulletin boards and display cases in the dorm (and Sargent Dining room). They work closely with the President.

The main role of the Entrepreneurial Chair is to promote our theme of “Commerce and Industry” and encourage residents to pursue entrepreneurial endeavors. One of the main ways this is accomplished is through the organization of the annual Startup Initiative. In general, the Entrepreneurial Chair maintains corporate interactions of the dorm, and provides internship information. They work closely with the Academic Affairs Chair to coordinate academic- and corporate-related programming and events.

The main role of the Technology Chair is to manage CCI’s technology. This includes maintaining a resident listserv, updating the website, updating the CCI Google Calendar, set up a linkedtree, and setting up a system for online voting (i.e. Google Forms) during elections. The Technology Chair also manages any CCI social media working with the Social Chairs and makes sure it is updated frequently. They are also responsible to ensure events are documented in the Archives (typically a Google Drive folder).
