About Me

My name is Austin Keen, and I am a PhD student in Linguistics at Northwestern University. My main research interests are formal syntax, psycholinguistics, and aphasiology.

My research explores elements of syntactic structures that are relatively hidden, such as ellipsis. I use psycholinguistic methods like maze experiments, acceptability rating tasks, and eyetracking to gain more insight into the structure of language in the mind.

I am currently a visiting student in the Department of Catalan Philology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

Outside my research, I enjoy hiking, traveling, and playing volleyball in a local league.
