Principles of Publication

An advisory council of Native American community members serves as reviewers for essays and directs us on matters of selection and content.  Students created first drafts of the essays for classes in the Department of English at Northwestern University; after the class concluded, we consulted students to ask for permission to publish the exhibit and to ask for edits they wish to make.

Essays are reviewed by an advisory board member and revised based on that feedback before publication. All advisors are compensated for their labor.

Students from English 274: Introduction to Native American & Indigenous Literature (winter 2019) and English 374: Topics in Native American & Indigenous Literatures (fall 2019) contributed essays.
