2022 IRPA North American Regional Congress
At the 2022 Congress, “Meeting the Challenges in the Practice of Radiation Protection”, Dr. Gayle Woloschak attended as Morgan Lecturer invited awardee and Dr. Shaheen Dewji attended as co-chair to the plenary sessions. The meetings took place in Union Station Hotel, St. Louis, Missouri on 20–24 February 2022.
Committee Contributors to Low Dose Studies
AllREMS’ Drs. Gayle Woloschak (Northwestern University), Dorthe Schaue (UCLA), and Shaheen Dewji (Georgia Tech) all served as committee members and contributors to this publication study on low dose radiation led by the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine. The study committee addressed research and infrastructure needs required to establish a low dose radiation research program in the United States. The study cites recent innovations in radiobiology, epidemiology, and dosimetry sciences that must be harnessed and integrated to address fundamental research questions associated with low dose radiation health effects and variables contributing to individual risk assessment.

NAID NIH Visit to Chicago 2024
NIH officers visited Chicago along with the sites of Georgia Tech, University of Fla, University of LA, University of California Berkeley, Oak Ridge Natiional Lab, Oak Ridge Associated Universities, and Northwestern University’s Woloschak Lab as host. They visited the Photon source at Argonne National Lab for a guided tour of the facilities being used for this grant.
2024 Trinity Site Visit
The Trinity site is a memorial for the first ever nuclear bomb test explosion, located within the White Sands National Monument. The Trinity Site explosion occured at 5:29:45 a.m. Mountain War Time on July 16, 1945. The Woloschak lab caravaned across the country for three days, joined by ORNL and ORAU staff as well as the former Radiation Oncology head of Northwestern to visit this historic site for their annual open house day in October.
