Namibia Spotlight

gemsbok

“The gemsbok is a powerfully built antelope, easily recognizable by its magnificent V-shaped horns and distinctive facial markings. Living in areas where there is always a shortage of water, the gemsbok’s resourcefulness in obtaining moisture from melons, succulent roots, and bulbs allows it to survive in one of the hottest places on earth without ever drinking water. It also has a special blood-cooling system in its head, which helps to avoid overheating of its brain.”
