Dr. Soyang Kwon is a Research Associate Professor for Northwestern University’s Buehler Center for Health Policy and Economics. Dr. Kwon’s research focuses on understanding physical activity behaviors among children and their families, including how parents affect the development of physical activity behavior among children. Dr. Kwon is particularly interested in wearables-based physical activity measurement and wearable data analysis.

Dr. Kwon is currently conducting a National Institute of Health (NIH)-funded Child and Mother Physical Activity Study (CAMPAS) to investigate the development of physical activity behavior during early childhood and the influence of parenting practices on the development.

Dr. Kwon is also conducting a pilot study, Health in Early Childhood among Asian Americans Research (HEAR), to investigate health and wellbeing in early childhood among Indian, Filipino, and Korean American families.
