Natalie Bartolomei
What are your plans post graduation?
I will be working as a paralegal specialist at the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division in Washington, D.C. before applying to (and hopefully attending!) law school in the 2024 fall cycle.
What is your favorite ECON memory?
Studying in Main for the core econ classes with my friends Carolyne, Christina, Mel, and Elizabeth.
What is your proudest achievement at Northwestern?
My honors thesis in Legal Studies, in which I used an econometric model to analyze Planned Parenthood v. Casey’s undue burden standard (with the very gracious help of Professor Lewis). I won the ‘Best Thesis’ award in the Legal Studies Department. š

What are your plans post graduation?
Next year, I will be working in Spain as an English teaching assistant. I look forward to traveling, eating and cooking delicious food, and improving my Spanish and teaching skills. In fall 2024, I plan to attend law school. I am interested in the areas of criminal, civil rights, and public interest law. I hope to help reform the criminal justice system to make it more just and equitable.

What is your favorite ECON memory?
During freshman year I was having a hard time with Economics and wasn’t sure if I wanted to continue with the major, but Professor Sara Hernandez had a very encouraging and empowering conversation with me during her office hours, and I have never looked back since!
What is your proudest achievement at NU?
Studying abroad in London during my senior fall quarter, and visiting France, Hungary, Belgium, The Netherlands, Spain, Italy, and Morocco!
