The PADLab’s main focus is to study child and adolescent personality and how it is related to behavior, how it affects children and adolescents relationships with their friends and parents, and how early personality traits may be indicators of later common behavioral problems. The PADLab is currently conducting multiple studies to understand adolescent decision making as well as understanding how personality informs academic outcomes. Our research protocol includes genetic and hormone analysis, child and parent interviewing, survey/questionnaires, and other tasks meant to elicit common personality traits. The PADLab at Northwestern is a branch that was originally established in Toronto, and has ongoing data collection at both the University of Houston and Northwestern University. The Tackett lab also collaborates with many researchers at other top research universities including the University of Texas at Austin.
