Originally from Portland, Oregon, David received his PhD from the Department of Linguistics at Northwestern University. His research concerns the interface of Syntax (grammar) and Semantics (meaning), and their online processing. He has an MA in Linguistics from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada, and a BA from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon, where he was a Ronald E. McNair Scholar. David has taught with Northwestern’s International Summer Institute since 2012, and has also tutored and taught in Northwestern’s English Language Proficiency and N’CAT student athlete tutoring programs, a private school in Seoul, South Korea and a high school in Normandy, France.
