Katie Braun – Bio

Katie Braun

I’m Katie Braun, a NU undergrad majoring in Environmental Science and Earth and Planetary Science. I’m interested in studying how climate change has been affecting the Great Lakes, and how to inform coastal management decisions with this type of work. In the Climate Change Research Group, I’m looking at how the Lake Michigan shoreline in Illinois has changed, specifically in carbon-rich wetlands that are rapidly eroding.

Outside of my classes, I’m involved with Real Food at Northwestern, a group dedicated to getting more sustainable and ethical food on campus, and I am also a member of the Brady Scholars Program in Ethics and Civic Life.
