The Center for the Study of Industrial Organization was founded within the Department of Economics at Northwestern University in the Fall of 1999, to support the research activities and enhance the intellectual life of the large community of scholars at Northwestern whose research is related to industrial organization.
The Center’s activities include:
- Funding short and long terms visits by faculty from other universities;
- Organizing and supporting conferences at Northwestern related to industrial organization;
- Supporting the industrial organization seminar and student workshop;
- Funding for graduate students nearing the completion of their PhDs;
- Publishing a Working Paper Series in industrial organization, to which Northwestern faculty and graduate students contribute;
The Center has established a relationship with the Institute of Industrial Economics at Toulouse, which allows for exchange of PhD and post-doctoral students, short-term visits by faculty, and periodic conferences held either at Northwestern or Toulouse.
The Center’s Director is Mar Reguant.
