Jacob Berglin is a fourth year PhD candidate in Music Education. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from Valparaiso University, teaching certification from Western Michigan University, and a masters’ degree in music education from the University of Michigan. Jake grew up in Michigan, where he spent the last six years teaching urban public middle and high school choral and general music. Currently, his research interests include access to music based on race, class, and gender, as well as the social and vocal concerns surrounding transgender student participation in choral music programs.
