As soon as I tell someone that I am going to law school in the fall, their first reaction is to ask where I am planning on going to school and what type of law I am interested in pursuing. The truth is there are several different areas of law that interest me for one reason or another. Until recently, I didn’t know much about the day to day work involved with any of them. I have always been an advocate for taking the time to experience something before claiming that you like or dislike it. Therefore, I found CFS to be a great opportunity for getting closer to figuring out which area of law I am most passionate about. For my internship this quarter, I decided to work for two criminal defense attorneys at Spector | Baker. Luckily for me, I have loved it! I have been fortunate enough to have great mentors who have been willing to take the time to guide me through everything and answer my questions. I have gained valuable professional skills and I have obtained knowledge about what I will encounter in future career in law. I am extremely grateful for this time to grow and learn in the work place as I believe it will prove advantageous in any path that I choose.
